Wauzeka-Steuben XC teams third at Kickapoo/La Farge

The Wauzeka-Steuben Cross Country teams competed at the Kickapoo/La Farge Invitational at Kickapoo High School in Viola last Thursday and earned a pair of third place finishes.
Behind the strength of a fourth place finish by Brett Wagner (18:27) and a fifth place finish by Nolan Reed-Mullikin (18:30), the Wauzeka-Steuben boys team scored 91 points to finish third out of nine teams.
Cody Wagner ended the race in 25th place (20:45), just two seconds ahead of teammate Parker McCullick (20:47). Rounding things out for the Hornets was Josh Martin in 31st (21:45), Andrew Mezera in 47th (24:35) and Stetson Zeeh in 58th (32:05).
The Hornet girls team finished in third place out of five teams with 86 points. Individually, the Hornet girls were paced by Isabella Bunders in eighth place (22:42), Emma Udelhoven in 17th place (24:44), Ellah Jones in 19th place (24:59), Alayna Martin in 20th place (25:14), Mallory McCullick in 22nd place (26:06) and Leah Peralta in 25th place (27:37). Following last night’s River Ridge Invitational, the Hornets will attend this Saturday’s Riverdale Invitational.
