The Prairie du Chien Girls Golf team ended their 2024 season this past Monday at The Oaks Golf Course in Cottage Grove when they placed eighth out of nine teams with a score of 419 at the D2 Madison Edgewood Sectional Meet.

The Hawks, competing as a team at their first sectional meet in ten years, were guided by senior Irelynd Cejka as she tied for 21st overall with a 99. She was followed by Tessa Czajkowski Higgins in 25th place (101), Camryn Knapp in 37th place (109), Hannah Fritsche in 38th place (110) and Elisia Wynos in a tie for 48th place (123).

A second place finish with a score of 428 at the D2 Prairie du Chien Regional Meet on Wednesday, Oct. 01 qualified the Hawks for their 12th appearance as a team at the sectional meet. Prairie got a tenth place finish from Cejka (104) to lead the team. Cejka was followed by Czajkowski-Higgins in a tie for 11th place (105), Fritsche in 15th place (109), Knapp in 16th place (110) and Wynos in 28th place (121).

The Hawks graduate seniors Cejka, Czajkowski Higgins and Rita Achenbach but will return plenty of experience next year in Wynos, Knapp and Fritsche.
