Seneca Cross Country at PdC, De Soto meets

The Seneca Cross Country team attended two meets last week. First up for the Royals was the Prairie du Chien Invitational at the PdC Country Club last Thursday, Sept. 26.
The Royal boys placed 11th as a team with 250 points. Gabriel Hamann finished in eleventh place in a time of 18:54. He was followed by Jaren Grimsled (43rd place) in 20:16, Thomas Caya (59th place) in 22:13, Simon Fek (67th place) in 24:38, Grant Sime (70th place) in 30:06 and Pablo Altadill-Salmon (72nd place) in 30:29.
Representing the Seneca girls team was senior Livian Starkey, who finished in 57th place in a time of 32:19.
Seneca traveled to De Soto two days later for the Pirate Nation Invitational and came away with a second place finish in the boys race. Hamann finished as runner-up individually in a time of 20:23. He was followed by Grimsled in eighth place (22:08), Caya in 10th place (23:00), Fek in 14th place (26:44) and Altadill-Salmon in 18th place (31:37). Starkey finished 11th in the girls race in a time of 32:54.
The Royals will be at the Kickapoo/La Farge Invitational at Kickapoo High School tomorrow night.
