Competing at last Thursday’s Prairie du Chien Cross Country Invite, the River Ridge girls finished eighth with a team score of 148, while the boys were ninth at 181.

The girls were led by Leah Patterson, who finished eighth overall with a time of 21:54.2.

She was followed by teammates Kristina Sletten in 34th (26:12.6), Chloe West in 41st (27:47.2), McKenzie Taylor in 43rd (28:08.1) and Lydia Mason in 49th (29:22.5).

On the boys side, Luke Patterson led the Timberwolves with a fifth- place finish and time of 18:18.9. He was followed by teammates Mason Pecinovsky in 19th (19:23.8), Colton Moris in 46th (20:48.9), Wyatt Bausch in 50th (21:10.7) and Colton Kirschbaum in 61st (22:25.1).

Winning the boys team title was Platteville with a score of 101, while Lancaster claimed the girls title with a perfect score of 15.

The River Ridge cross country teams will next compete at Kickapoo on Thursday, then will host a meet on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Badger Camp.
