Blackhawks steamroll Dodgers

The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks Football team traveled to their week six game at Dodgeville this past Friday night, looking to punch their ticket to the postseason for the eighth straight season.
The Hawks wasted little time and took a 36-0 lead after one quarter, and a 53-0 lead at halftime. Prairie du Chien would add 10 more points in the second half while shutting out the Dodgers to earn a 63-0 victory and a trip to the playoffs.
Prairie du Chien got five touchdowns from Blake Thiry (four rushing and one fumble return), two from Bryce Lenzendorf (one rushing and one receiving), one receiving touchdown from Hunter Straka and two field goals from Xander DeHart in the win. DeHart was also good on all seven extra point kicks attempted while Dustin Nolan added a successful two-point conversion run.
Abe Amundson was 8-of-11 for 123 yards and two touchdowns in the win. Thiry lead the Hawks rushing attack with 6 attempts for 144 yards and four touchdowns with Lenzendorf (2 attempts for 52 yards and a touchdown), Ashton Landt (2 attempts for 30 yards), Darian Jackson (4 attempts for 7 yards), Amundson (1 attempt for 4 yards), Nolan (1 attempt for 3 yards) and Deacon Chesebro (3 attempts for 0 yards) rounding out the Hawks rushing totals
Receiving wise, Prairie du Chien was led by Lenzendorf with 2 catches for 37 yards and one touchdown. Straka (1 catch for 30 yards and one touchdown), Brennan Koecke and Mason Hird (each had 2 catches for 28 yards) also caught passes for the Hawks.
Hird also had two interceptions on defense while Landt collected the Hawks third interception of the game. DeHart also recovered a fumble for PdC.
The Hawks improved to 5-1 on the season and 4-0 in the SWC with the win, while the Dodgers dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the SWC. Prairie du Chien will entertain Brodhead/Juda this Friday night for homecoming as the Hawks look to move a game closer towards the SWC Conference Title and a a top seed in the postseason.
