Naomi Penfield

Naomi Beth “Nicky” Penfield, age 93 of Prairie du Chien passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Bluff Haven Living Facility in Prairie du Chien. Nicky was born on June 14, 1931, in Wyalusing Township, the daughter of Kenneth and Imogene “Shorty” (Millin) Harvey. She married Theodore “Ted” Penfield on June 21, 1952, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien.
Nicky started her working career as a waitress in high school at her parents’ restaurant, Harvey’s Steakhouse. Nicky was also a guide at the Villa Louis and a homemaker throughout life when she started a family. Once the kids were in school, Nicky worked at the Prairie du Chien Convalescent Center in the Activities Department. She was actively involved with the Eagles Club and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Nicky took great pride in her flowers at the cabin and shared a strong love for her family and faith.
She is survived by her daughter Pam “Pamie” (Dean) Hamann; sons Tedd (Laurie) Penfield and Ken “Kenny” (Pam Rose) Penfield; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and Ted, her husband of 67 years.
Upon Nicky’s request, a small family service and burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family. www.garrityfuneralhome.com.
