Doris Ann Siegele, 90, of Oelwein, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Prairie Hills Assisted Living, Independence. She was born May 15, 1934, to Charles and Martha (Vermase) Tomas in Iowa City. She graduated from Oxford High School.

 

Doris was united in marriage with Gerald Timothy Siegele on Sept. 9, 1961, at the Methodist Church, McGregor. Four daughters were born to this union, Lisa, Teresa, Krista and Linda. She was a secretary at Oelwein Community School District and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oelwein. Doris enjoyed time spent with family, working in the yard with her flowers, reading and bird watching.

 

Doris is survived by her husband, Gerald Siegele of Oelwein; four daughters, Lisa (Quinn) Westpfahl of Jesup, Teresa (Kevin) Treloar of Hendersonville, Tenn., Krista (Andy) Urban of Sun Prairie, Wis., and Linda (Brian) Westpfahl of Jesup; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Lowell Siegele of McGregor; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Siegele of McGregor and Mary Tomas of Solon; and multiple nieces and nephews.

 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha Tomas; brother, Rich Tomas; and grandson, Erik Treloar.

 

Memorials in Doris’s honor may be given to Cedar Valley Hospice, Waterloo, or Prairie Hills of Independence Assisted Living Memory Care.

 

Private graveside services will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, McGregor.

 

Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor, is helping the family with the arrangements.
