September 25, 1941–August 22, 2024

Jacqueline C. “Jackie” Cherrier, age 82, of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Oelwein Healthcare Center in Oelwein, Iowa. 

She was born Sept. 25, 1941, to Clarence and Marjorie (Dorr) Selheim. She grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison East High School with the class of 1960. 

Jackie married Richard “Dick” Cherrier on Jan. 24, 1959, at St. Bernard’s Church in Madison. Together, they moved to Oelwein where they raised their family. 

Jackie also volunteered at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Oelwein. She enjoyed walking and spending time on the Mississippi River near Harper’s Ferry, Iowa. 

Jackie’s husband Dick preceded her in death on April 27, 2014. 

She is survived by one daughter Jolene Cherrier and three sons Steve (Mary), Michael (Terri), and Tom (Trish) Cherrier; one brother Robert (Sandra) Selheim; brother-in-law Raymond Cherrier; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenny Selheim.

A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating with private inurnment at a later date in the Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
