WarEagles' season ends

Clayton Ridge-Central hosted MFL MarMac in JV-varsity baseball action on July 1, then traveled to Cascade in the first round of district playoffs July 6.
The WarEagles dropped their varsity game against MFL MarMac by a score of 5-1. Braxton Bormann was 2-4 and Kahne Bolsinger went 1-1 with two walks and scored the WarEagles’ only run. Owen Hammersland pitched three innings and gave up two unearned runs. Colton Hoeger pitched three and one-third innings and gave up three runs.
The JV WarEagles won their contest 6-2. Mason Loan pitched three innings and gave up only one unearned run. Griffin Hammersland pitched two innings and gave up only one run as well.
Clayton Ridge-Central traveled to American Legion Ballpark in Cascade to face the Cougars in the first round of district tournament play on July 6. The WarEagles lost 8-0. Jack Scherf pitched three scoreless innings in relief. Kasten Oberbreckling, Mason Loan, Kahne Bolsinger and Braxton Bormann all recorded hits for the WarEagles.
The loss to Cascade brings Clayton Ridge-Central’s 2024 season to a close. The varsity ended the season 8-17 overall, with a conference record of 8-11. They will only lose one player to graduation this year, and all starters will return in 2025. The JV finished the year 8-3 overall.
