October 6, 1935–June 13, 2024

Lucy Patricia Yeomans, 88, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at her home. Lucy was born Oct. 6, 1935 to Perry and Helen (Hubbard) Wahl in Harvey, N. Dak. After earning her Bachelor of Science in education from UW–La Crosse, Lucy taught English for 42 and a half years.

On Aug. 31, 1957, Lucy was united in marriage with Richard Floyd Yeomans. One daughter was born to this union. Lucy and Richard owned a private airplane and enjoyed flying to air shows. They also loved to travel and would take trips to Europe. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, Dillon and Kirk. Lucy loved to play the piano and organ and played at the church for over 75 years.

Surviving Lucy is her beloved husband, Richard Yeomans of Prairie du Chien; daughter, Jane (Tom) Yeomans-Wonderling of Fennimore; and her two grandsons, Dillon Yeomans-Petrowitz and Kirk Yeomans-Petrowitz. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Helen Wahl and her siblings, Priscilla Schmidt and Larry Wahl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Prairie du Chien.
