MFL MarMac softball perseveres through tough week

MFl MarMac Softball had a tough week and faced a lot of good competition. They played three games including a double header against Clayton Ridge and a match up against the Hudson Pirates. While the Bulldogs did not come out with any wins many good things still came out of their week.
In the first game of the night on Wednesday June 5 MFL MarMac fell to Clayton Ridge with a score of 1-3. In this conference matchup Emme Wikner led the team with two hits followed by Garnett Niedziejko and Jerica Wille each with one hit. Niedziejko also had the lone RBI for the team. Emily Hendrickson-Troester was on the mound for the Bulldogs and allowed only two runs and six hits.
In the second game the Bulldogs fell 4-9. Wikner and Wille each obtained three hits with Wikner securing one RBI. Katelyn Gerndt had two hits followed by Hendrickson-Troester with one hit. Wikner also successfully stole one base and appeared on the mound allowing one hit and zero runs. Hendrickson-Troester and Lauryn Sandstrom also stepped on the mound allowing a combined three hits and eight runs.
In the non-conference matchup against the Hudson Pirates the Bulldogs fell 0-9. Wikner was on the mound for the Bulldogs matchup against Hudson and allowed only seven hits. Ayla Gerndt obtained three hits in the game followed by Kaitlin Picha and Niedziejko each with one hit. Ayla Gerndt was able to steal two bases and Kensey Ball successfully stole one.
