PdC golfer Zach Mezera qualifies for sectional meet as team places eighth at D2 regional meet

Prairie du Chien senior Zach Mezera earned a trip the D2 Sectional Meet at River Valley with his performance at last Wednesday’s D2 Regional Meet at Prairie du Chien Country Club.

Mezera used a score of 88 to tie for tenth place with River Valley’s Will Kaltenberg. The top four teams and top four individuals not on qualifying teams move on to the sectional meet and Mezera was the fourth lowest score not on a qualifying team to move on.

The Hawks finished in eighth place out of nine teams with a score of 380. The Hawks nearly had a second sectional qualifier in Owen Achenbach who tied for fourteenth place with a score of 90. Rounding out the meet for Prairie were Tyler Steiber (97), Brock Folsom (105) and Westbrook Cuff (112).

Mezera moved on to Tuesday’s sectional meet at the House on the Rock Golf Course in Spring Green with tee time scheduled for 9 a.m.
