The Seneca and Wauzeka-Steuben track teams traveled to Kickapoo High School on May 14 for the Ridge and Valley Conference Meet.

The Hornet boys placed fourth out of six teams with 45 points while Seneca was sixth with 41 points.

On the girls side, Wauzeka-Steuben finished fifth with 22 points while the Seneca girls were sixth with 12 points.

Placing in the top three for both schools were -

Boys 800 Meter Run - Third - Brett Wagner, Wauzeka-Steuben (2:15.63).

Boys 1600 Meter Run - Third - Gabriel Hamann, Seneca (4:55.08).

Boys 110 Meter Hurdles - First - Lucius Cooley, Wauzeka-Steuben (15.35 - setting a new meet record).

Boys 300 Meter Hurdles - First - Cooley, W-S (39.63 - also a new meet record) and Second - Tucker Stluka, Seneca (42.27).

Boys 4x400 Meter Relay - Third - Thomas Caya, Hamann, Tristen Starkey and Stluka, Seneca (3:49.39).

Boys High Jump - First - Cooley, W-S (6-06.00 - yet another meet record).

Boys Long Jump - Second - Cooley, W-S (20-00.75).

Boys Discus - Third - Ben Payne, Seneca (129-11).

Girls 4x100 Meter Relay - Third - Livian Starkey, Maya Buffington, Skylette Gilbertson and Rita Sime, Seneca (57.02).

Girls Pole Vault - First - Emma Udelhoven, Wauzeka-Steuben (8-00.00).

Both schools competed this past Monday Night at the D3 Regional Meet at River Ridge High School.

Wauzeka-Steuben placed ninth out of eleven teams with 38 points on the boys side, with Seneca right behind them in tenth place with 31 points.

The Hornet girls finished in ninth place with 29 points while the Royals were eleventh with four points.

These athletes earned a trip to Thursday’s Sectional Meet at Bangor by placing in the top four on Monday night -

Boys 1600 Meter Run - Third - Hamann, Seneca (4:49.70).

Boys 110 Meter Hurdles - First - Cooley, W-S (15.05).

Boys 300 Meter Hurdles - First - Cooley, W-S (40.39) and Third - Stluka, Seneca (42.78).

Boys High Jump - First - Cooley, W-S (6-02.00).

Boys Long Jump - Second - Cooley, W-S (19-11.75).

Girls 100 Meter Dash - Third - Ellah Jones, Wauzeka-Steuben (13.68).

Girls 400 Meter Dash - Third - Jones, W-S (1:04.89).

Girls 4x400 Meter Relay - Fourth - Udelhoven, Jones, Isabella Bunders and Natalie Wright, Wauzeka-Steuben (4:27.06).

Girls Pole Vault - Fourth - Udelhoven, W-S (9-00.00).

The top four finishers in each event at the sectional meet in divisions two and third qualify for the state meet.
