MFL MarMac girls put up several season bests at state qualifying meet

The MFL MarMac girls track and field team turned in several season best results at the Class 2A state qualifying meet at Denver on May 9.
Three came in the relays, including a 1:58.89 put up by Emme Wikner, Lauryn Sandstrom, Brynlee Fritz and Hannah Bogdonovich in the 4x200. The Bulldogs finished sixth, their highest placing of the night.
Both the 4x100 and 4x400 placed seventh. The 4x100 team of Wikner, Bogdonovich, Fritz and Samantha Ruff turned in a time of 56.27 seconds, while Skylar Fisk, Sandstrom, Wikner and Ruff combined for a season record 4:43.83 in the 4x400.
Another season best was in the shuttle hurdle relay, where Wikner, Sandstrom, Emma Driscoll and Fisk earned eighth with a 1:18.34.
MFL MarMac’s sprint medley of Fisk, Sandstrom, Evelyn Ruff and Samantha Ruff also earned eighth, and the 4x800 relay was ninth.
One of the Bulldogs’ best individual finishes came in the 200-meter dash, where Bogdonovich crossed the line seventh in 28.88 seconds. Teammate Makya Wood was 22nd.
Breanna Ramsvig and Fritz were a respective 11th and 12th in the 100, while Samantha Ruff snagged eighth in the 400 with a time of 1:08.41. Fisk took 11th in the 100-meter hurdles, followed by Bayleigh Wood in 15th.
The distance races were highlighted by 10th place for Evelyn Ruff in the 800, after running the event in 2:47.7. Brooke Donlon placed 11th in the 1500.
Ramsvig put up a season best 14-01.50 feet in the long jump, to place seventh in the event. Fritz hit 12-03.75 feet for 12th place. Addyson Heins and Audrey Ruff rounded out the field events with a respective 16th and 17th in the discus, and Brooklyn Tonn and Ariana Fish were 16th and 17th in the shot put.
