Bulldogs conclude track and field season at district meet

The MFL MarMac boys track and field team wrapped up its season May 9, in a tough district/state qualifying meet at Denver.
The Bulldogs earned three season best times, including 45.44 seconds in the 4x100 relay. The group of Wyatt Powell, Carver Blietz-Bentien, Kashton Decker and Parker Kuehl placed fifth in the race.
The distance medley of Powell, Decker, Brandon Christofferson and Jacob Schellhorn also had its top time of the season—a 3:51.29—and finished fifth. Powell, Blietz-Bentien, Decker and Christofferson earned a season best 1:41.10 for sixth in the sprint medley.
Also sixth was the shuttle hurdle relay of Izayah Streicher, Rylee Kugel, Carter Stoddard and Tucker Ruff, who performed in 1:12.01.
Ruff had one of the top individual finishes for the Bulldogs, claiming seventh in the 400 hurdles in 1:01.66. Teammates Kugel and Stoddard were a respective 11th and 12th in the 110-meter event.
Decker sprinted into seventh place in the 200-meter dash and Alex Breuer placed 14th in the 800.
Kuehl was one spot short of qualifying for state in the high jump, where he placed third with a height of 5 feet, 8 inches. The junior was also 16th in the long jump with a distance of 12-4.5.
Hunter Christofferson and Blietz-Bentien threw to a respective ninth and 11th in the discus, while Aiden Schoulte finished 12th in the shot put.
