The MFL MarMac boys golf team won two more conference meets and placed second in a tough non-conference triangular last week.

The Bulldogs matched their nine-hole season low with a 156-170 victory over Turkey Valley at Jackson Heights Golf Course on April 29.

Ben Krambeer was the top individual with a 37, and Nick Krambeer and Quinn McGeough tied for second after shooting 38s. A 43 put Wes Corlett in seventh place, while Sawyer Keehner and Kyle Tilson were two strokes back and tied for eighth.

In a meet where all three teams were separated by just two strokes, the Bulldogs finished behind New Hampton 168-169 in a triangular at New Hampton Golf and Country Club on April 30. 3A Charles City placed third with a 170, despite a meet-best 35 from Carson Gallup.

Bulldog Ben Krambeer was runner-up with a 36, and McGeough tied for fourth with a 42. Corlett fell into a three-way tie for eighth after shooting a 45, and Nick Krambeer was one of three golfers with a 46 in 11th place. Keehner tied for 14th with a 47, followed by Tilson in 18th with a 54.

MFL MarMac wrapped up the week May 3 with a 152-217 rout of Postville at Tri City Golf Course. It was a new nine-hole season low for the team, who had the top six individual scores.

Nick Krambeer was the medalist with a 36 and McGeough the runner-up after shooting a 37. Keehner followed in third with a 39, then Corlett with a 40, Ben Krambeer a 41 and Jarett Hanson a 42.

The Bulldogs looked to continue their Upper Iowa success in the conference meet at Guttenberg on May 6. They will head to Class 2A sectionals at Monticello Golf Club on May 8. The field also includes Alburnett, Oelwein, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Postville, Union Community, Lisbon and Monticello.
