Eagles best Bulldog soccer

Clayton Ridge bested both the MFL MarMac boys and girls soccer teams during matches in Guttenberg on April 15.
The Eagles led the Bulldogs just 1-0 at halftime of the boys game, before cranking out four goals in the second period. Clayton Ridge took 21 shots on goal, for a 23.8 completion percentage. They attempted three penalty kicks, making one of them. Eagle goalie recorded one save against the Bulldogs.
In the girls’ game, MFL MarMac fell into an early 5-0 hole. The Bulldogs relinquished another four goals in the second period to lose 9-0. The Eagles were successful on 42.1 percent of their 19 shots on goal.
After an April 16 home match against Bellevue was cancelled due to weather, MFL MarMac closed out the week with a pair of JV matches against Decorah. The girls scored their first goal of the season in a 1-0 win, while the boys were victim to a late Viking goal in a 1-0 loss.
MFL MarMac hosted Postville on April 23, and the girls only will welcome North Fayette Valley on April 26.
