Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg.

Don was born on March 5, 1956, in Manchester, the son of Ralph and Rita (Wachter) Boardman.

Don grew up on a small farm in Osterdock, with one sister and four brothers. He built and owned the bar in Osterdock in 1982. He enjoyed cooking at the bar and became a very talented cook. He spent his early life trapping for pelts and hunting ginseng. In his later years, he was an avid outdoor bird keeper, watching the many birds come in for feed, he put out himself.

Survivors include his son, Jacob Boardman; step-children, Nikki Nuehring, Jason Steger, Erika Denver, Corey Schenke and Jason Schenke; numerous grandchildren; siblings, Jolene Freeman, Mike Boardman, Wayne Boardman, Greg Boardman and John Boardman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank the Family Resource Center for all the help they provided Don over the years.
