December 11, 1947–March 24, 2024

 

Bernard “Butch” Quick, 76, of Janesville, passed away at Mercy Hospital on Sunday March 24, 2024, after a lengthy illness. 

He was born in Prairie du Chien on Dec. 11, 1947, to the late Russell and Ivanelle (Hill) Quick. 

Butch grew up on the family farm and would graduate from West Grant High School on May 25, 1966. He worked on the family farm until March of 1968 when he moved to Janesville to work for General Motors, retiring in 2006 after 38 years. 

Butch married the love of his life Linda (Morgan) Quick on April 20,1968. They spent their lives in the Janesville and Orfordville area. They would have been married 56 years, this year. 

Butch loved farming and would help his friends Kenny and Erick Komprood of Orfordville with planting and harvesting of their crops. Above all, Butch loved spending time with his family, especially his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. 

Butch is survived by his loving wife Linda; two sons, Todd (Brenda) Quick and Terrance “Terry” (Melinda) Quick; grandchildren Dylan (Jessie) Quick, Grady Quick, and Clayton Quick; great-grandchildren Gabriel, and Storm; sisters Dora (Elgie) Rewey, and Ruth Redman; and brothers Dwane (Diane) Quick and Benjamin Quick.

 He was also survived by; Barber Meng, Jeannie Morgan, Mary Ann Redman, Dorothy (Dave) Holtz, Donna (Mike) Mckinney, Betty (Jon) Cooley, Kathy (Ron) Knapp, Patrick Morgan, Mike (Cindy) Morgan, Rita Morgan, Bill (Nancy), Terry Laufenberg, as well as many nieces and nephews and other extended family members. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; Dick Redman; Dave Redman; Brenda Redman; great-grandson Darren Quick; in-laws Ralph and Mary Lou Morgan; Jody, Dwain, Austin, and Aaron Henkes; brothers-in-law James Morgan, Dennis Morgan and Robert Morgan; Laurie Laufenberg and Phillip Morgan.

A visitation will take place from 2–4 p.m. on Friday, April 5 at the Apfel Wolfe Funeral Home, 21 S. Austin Road Janesville, Wisc.
