Seneca boys keep hot streak going with 63-49 home win over Kickapoo Panthers

The Seneca Royals boys basketball team entered their home game with the Kickapoo Panthers last Friday, Feb. 2, looking to build off of recent good play and get back to above .500 in conference play for the first time since mid-December.
After a low scoring first half that saw the game tied at 24 going into halftime, the Royals used a balanced scoring attack in the second half to separate themselves from the Panthers as the Royals claimed a 63-49 victory.
Head coach Brian Kwasny was pleased with his team’s performance in the second half, saying, “I was pleased with the energy we brought to the defensive end. Our pressure turned them over enough to negate their height an advantage.”
Leading the Royals balanced scoring attack was Dawson Davidson with 15 points, while also adding 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Gage Wall (12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists) and Reggie George (10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals) also scored in double figures for the hosts.
Rounding out the scoring log for Seneca were Jackson Konichek (8 points), Hunter Hagensick (6 points), Briar Wall (5 points), and Garret Baker (3 points).
Seneca improved to 8-8 overall, and 5-4 in the Ridge and Valley with the win. Following Tuesday night’s game at Cassville, the Royals return home on Thursday, Feb. 8 to host the North Crawford Trojans at 7:15 p.m.
