PdC/Fennimore Gymnasts defeat Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton, take third at invitational

The Prairie du Chien/Fennimore Gymnastics team hosted a conference dual against the Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton Co-op on Monday, Jan. 15. The team came in first place with a score of 127.1 and Southwestern second place with a score of 124.425. The girls had minimal falls on the balance beam and many personal best scores throughout the meet that helped to improve the team score.

 There were several stand out performances at Monday nights meet. On Vault, Madilyn Fisher placed first with a score of 9.275. Alexandria Crary in third place with a score of 8.55. On the uneven bars Paisley Dressler performed a new skill on the high bar to increase her score by 2 points. Kendra Baker also completed a new skill on the bars, which increased her score by 1 point. Fisher placed first on bars with a season best score of 8.525. Crary came in second with a score of 7.225, and Taia Dressler in fourth with a score of 7.2. 

On the balance beam, Baker had a no fall routine with wobbles with a personal best score of 7.825. T. Dressler also had a no fall routine placing fourth with a score of 7.725. Jasmine Olmstead also had a season best score on beam of 7.225. Fisher came in first with a score of 8.275. On the Floor Exercise Fisher came in first with a score of 8.925, Crary came in third with a personal best score of 8.675. Baker also had a personal best score of 8.05. In All-Around, PDC took the top three places with T. Dressler in third with a score of 31.275, Crary in second with a score of 31.65, Fisher in first with a score of 35.00.

The team went to Hazel Green on Saturday, Jan. 16 for the Southwestern/Cuba City/Benton Invitational and came back with a third place finish out of six teams with a score of 124.525.

Fisher placed first in the All-Around with a score of 35.175, while Crary was ninth with a score of 30.925. Fisher won three of the four events, winning floor (9.150), uneven bars (8.400), and vault (9.300). She also finished ninth on the beam (8.325).

The Hawks are back in action on Saturday, Jan. 27 when they travel to Dodgeville for the Dodgeville/Mineral Point Invitational. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
