PdC Boys Basketball earns first conference win with dominant performance at Richland Center

During a week dominated by weather-related schedule changes, the Prairie du Chien boys basketball team was able to get one game in and the Hawks took advantage of it.

Coming off a tough loss at home to conference leading Platteville the previous week, the Hawks were looking to pick up their first conference win of the season when the Richland Center Hornets came to town on Thursday, Jan. 11.

Following a relatively low-scoring first half in which Prairie took a 25-17 lead into halftime, the Hawks turned on their jets in the second half with a 45 point outburst while holding the Hornets to just 27 points as the Blackhawks pulled away for a 70-44 victory and their first conference win of the season. With the win Prairie du Chien improves to 4-8 overall, and 1-3 in the SWC, while  the Hornets fall to 2-12 overall, and 0-4 in the SWC. 

Following a boy-girl doubleheader at home against Decorah on Tuesday night, Prairie du Chien is next in action on Friday, Jan. 19 when they host River Valley.
