Rosemary C Arneson, age 83 passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Jan. 4, 2024, at Prairie Maison Nursing Home, Prairie du Chien, WI, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Rosemary was born on Dec. 25, 1940, to Kenneth and Hilda (Cornwell) Geisler. They lived a short time in Iowa before purchasing a farm and moving to Wauzeka, WI. Rosemary graduated from Wauzeka School District and then moved to Madison WI to see what the world was about. Mom always loved and talked about being on the farm and missed it very much.

Rosemary married Leland S Arneson Sr. on Jan. 30, 1960. They later divorced. They raised five children together: Leland S Arneson Jr, Randy (Kim) Arneson, Gregory Arneson, Julie Wachter and Fiancé Keith Forst, Cheryl (Mike) Fisher.  She loved her 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Rosemary spent most of her working career as a CNA taking care of her elderly patients in the Prairie du Chien Nursing home.  She also worked as a Therapy Aide there and enjoyed that work as well as the people she worked with. She retired from the new Prairie Maison facility as a CNA in the Assisted Living Wing.

We would like to thank the Crossing Rivers Hospice team for taking great care of our mother and keeping her comfortable and pain free during most of her journey with cancer. She loved her nurses and had a special bond with Nurse Loretta! She always made Mom feel special and loved.

We would also like to thank the Staff at Prairie Maison for taking good care and making sure she had everything she needed. She loved and looked forward to seeing Nurse Tesse. She made her stay there enjoyable.

Rosemary was preceded in death by both of her parents, Kenneth & Hilda Geisler and Brothers Kenneth Geisler Jr., Louis Geisler & Sister-in-Law Sharon Geisler, Roger Geisler and her sister Dolores Fette & Brother-in-Law Virgil Fette and her Great Grandson Cashton Warrington.

Private Family Funeral Services will be held at the Garrity Funeral Home with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Crossing Rivers Hospice. www.garrityfuneralhome.com.
