Three more dual wins for MFL MarMac

Wrestling at 157 pounds, Tristen Koehn picked up a pair of falls in last week's duals.

The MFL MarMac boys wrestling team picked up three more dual victories in a home quad on Dec. 19, improving their overall record to 8-0.

 

The closest dual of the night was a 46-33 win over East Buchanan. This included falls for Dayne Kohrs (190), Nolan Lerch (215), Keith Anderson (120), Gavin Kishman (132), Holden Mathis (138) and Tristen Koehn (157). 

 

Rylan Schroeder scored a 13-1 major decision win at 126 pounds and Gunnar Ross won due to forfeit at 113. 

 

The Buccaneers earned points with falls over Bulldogs Caleb Zuercher (175), Will Howes (285), Hunter Bogdonovich (150) and Quinn McGeough (165), as well as a pair of forfeits at 106 and 144 pounds.

 

MFL MarMac defeated Central 60-18 behind nine forfeit victories. Kishman added to the total with a fall.

 

Bogdonovich and Ty Koeller (126) were pinned in their respective matches, and Central picked up six points with a Bulldog forfeit at 106. Neither team had a wrestler at 144 pounds.

 

The score was even more disparate against Clayton Ridge, whom MFL MarMac dominated 66-6. Forfeit wins were also plentiful in this dual, with the Bulldogs benefitting from five. MFL MarMac also racked up six falls, courtesy of Howes, Anderson, Schroeder, Mathis, Bogdonovich and Koehn. 

 

Clayton Ridge’s lone win came in a fall over Bulldog 113-pounder Ross. There were double forfeits at 106 and 144 pounds.

 

MFL MarMac will return to action after winter break, wrestling in the Upper Iowa Conference Duals at North Fayette Valley on Jan. 4. The team will participate in the Farr Jebens Invitational at Maquoketa Valley on Jan. 6.
