The Central boys wrestling team started last week at home versus Springville and Lone Tree, managing to go 1-1 in duals, including a 24-18 win over Lone Tree. Colin Jaster (138 pounds) and Preston Kulper (150) both won via fall.
The Warriors lost the dual versus Springville 36-24. No individual results were available at press time.
The Warriors next wrestled against Hudson, Sumner-Fredericksburg, and Oelwein.
Versus Hudson, the Central went 3-0 in matches, but gave up 11 forfeits to lose 66-18. Jonah Burns defeated his opponent at 106 via fall in 41 seconds, Braxton Bormann earned a pin in 45 seconds at 126 and Kulper also won by fall in 2:37.
Against Oelwein, the Warriors lost the only match via technical fall and lost the dual 47-12.
Versus Sumner-Fredericksburg, Central finished 1-2 in matches, with Bormann getting an 11-0 majority decision. Central lost the dual 51-4.
The Warriors wrapped the week Dec. 16, at the Starmont Doug Guilford Tournament. Bormann was the only Central wrestler to compete, coming away as the 126-pound champion.
The boys have two road meets before Christmas break, the first at MFL MarMac on Dec. 19, followed by a trip to Postville on Dec. 21.
