Eleven Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben football players selected by Ridge and Valley Conference for 2023 honors

The Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben Blue-Golds football team recently wrapped up a successful 2023 campaign that culminated with an overall record of 5-5, and a second place finish in the Ridge and Valley Conference with a 5-2 conference record as the program qualified for the playoffs for the seventh time as a co-op program.
Individually, the Blue-Golds had 11 different players named to the Ridge and Valley Conference’s All-Conference Football team for the 2023 season. Earning spots on the First Team Offense was senior lineman Ben Bird and Nicholas Walz and sophomore Cooper Lomas at kicker. Named to the second team offense was senior Cohen Redman at running back and senior offensive lineman Paul Krachey, while junior running back Lucius Cooley was named honorable mention.
Defensively, the Blue-Golds had four players selected to the first team - Redman at linebacker, junior Tucker Stluka, also at a linebacker, junior defensive back Dawson Davidson, and Lomas at punter. Named to the second team was Walz on the defensive line, and sophomore defensive back Hunter Hagensick. Senior Gabe Kapinus was named honorable mention as a defensive lineman.
Junior Owen Oppriecht was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team to conclude the honors for the Blue-Golds.
