He was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Osterdock, the son of Howard Sr and Icie Borrett. He received degrees from the University of Iowa and the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona where he focused on international trade.

One memorable moment he shared with family; when working in Thailand, he was asked to drive the President’s wife (Eleanor Roosevelt) to be her guide when she was visiting Bangkok. He commented that she was a very interesting and congenial lady.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alo (Warren) Keehner and Geraldine (Ivan) Moser; brother, Curtis (Jacqueline) Borrett; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Borrett.
