MFL MarMac runs at NFV meet

The MFL MarMac boys and girls cross country teams ran in just one meet last week—Sept. 7 at North Fayette Valley—after an earlier meet at Clayton Ridge was cancelled due to heat.
Junior Jacob Schellhorn turned in the Bulldogs’ top time, crossing the line in 17:41.77 for seventh place in the boys race. Conall Sauser of Oelwein won the meet with a 16:57.42 effort.
Tucker Ruff’s time of 19:55.04 put him 33rd, and Malachi Ames was 51st at 20:28.77. Logan Ross and Jaxon Millage rounded out the 253 team score with respective 113th- and 136th-place finishes.
MFL MarMac was 10th as a team. Oelwein won the Bob Scott Memorial Invitational with a score of 44.
The lady Bulldogs were ninth in their standings, after compiling a score of 206. Hudson’s 67 put them on top.
Cora Keehner raced her way to 20th with a 22:05.49, and Brooke Donlon had a solid 23:12.94 for 39th place. Skylar Fisk’s time of 23:35.39 put her 47th. Clare Grau followed in 56th at 24:12.69, Evelyn Ruff 58th at 24:17.88 and Emma Koether 71st at 25:06.29. Mariah Moser and Emma Driscoll were a respective 138th and 140th, while Kaylee Nuehring came in at the 141st-place spot.
Next up for both the boys and girls teams is a meet at Starmont on Tuesday, Sept. 12, then at the Elkader Golf and Country Club on Thursday, Sept. 14.
