Patricia Anne (Check) Walz, age 80, of Glen Haven and Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at her home in Lancaster.  She was born on March 18, 1943, the daughter of Anthony and Cecelia (Kozelka) Check.  Pat was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Walz on August 22, 1964.  Pat and Gene lived in Glen Haven until 2017 when they moved to Lancaster. Together they raised four children.  Pat was a stay-at-home mother until their youngest child was a senior in high school. She then took a job at Rapid Die & Mold Co. in Cassville where she worked until she retired in 2017 to care for Gene.  Pat loved to play cards, especially ponytail canasta, and making wonderful meals for her family.  Her meatloaf, rice Krispie bars, strawberry pretzel dessert, orange salad and peach desserts were legendary.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gene, Pat was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Albert and Leone Walz, her brother, Richard (Beverly) Check, brothers-in-law: Harold (Rose) Walz, Robert (Virginia) Walz, and Vernon Krantz; three nephews: Dean Walz, Gary Krantz, and Wayne Johll; two nieces: Joan and Nancy Krantz.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glen Haven with Father Steve Brunner officiating.  Burial was held in Gockel Cemetery, Glen Haven.  Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Lancaster assisted the family.
