PdC softball wins 2, loses 1 to finish regular season

The Ladyhawks pulled out a victory over Richland Center 9-7. After falling behind 5-0 in the second, PdC rallied to score in every inning and RC only answered back in the top of 7 making it a little tense, but PDC held on.

Scout Hall was 3-4 with 2 RBIS and a walk, Kate Mitchell was 1-2 with a walk, Mea Doll was 3-4 with 1 RBI, Kailee Quick was 1-2 with a walk and an RBI, Ashlyn Knapp was 2-3, and Madison Baumgartner was 1-1. Kate and Ashlyn were both hit by pitches. Stolen bases by Mea Doll, Scout Hall, and Madison Baumgartner. Multiple sac bunts were put down beautifully and the team really came together to fight back to win. Scored 9 runs on 13 hits and 2 errors.

Scout Hall took the win pitching all 7 giving up 7 runs on 7 hits, walking 2, and striking out 8.

Prairie du Chien Softball finished up their regular season with senior night and a big win over Lancaster 7-3. Prairie scored 7 on 5 hits and committed 3 errors. Lancaster scored 3 on 10 hits and committed 1 error.

Seniors are:

Josie Fuller who played centerfield and was 1-3 with a walk and RBI

Kate Mitchell who plays 1st and was 1-3 with an RBI

Mea Doll who plays right field and had a walk and an RBI 

Kailee Quick who plays 3rd and had a walk

Ashlyn Knapp who plays 2nd and had a walk

Madison Baumgartner who plays left field 

PdC scored 4 in the 4th then 3 in the 6th. 

Other hitters were Scout Hall who was 1-2 with a triple, a walk, hit by pitch, and 2 RBI and Irelynd Cejka was 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI.

Hall pitched giving up 3 runs, only 1 earned, walked 2, and struck out 6.

PdC softball ended the regular season with a record of 9-8 overall and 7-3 in the SWC. Prairie finished in third place, one game behind River Valley, and two games behind champion Dodgeville. 

The Hawks opened postseason play as the fifth seed in their regional grouping and traveled to number four seed Adams-Friendship on Tuesday, May 23 in the regional semifinal round.
