It was another record-setting week for the MFL MarMac boys golf team, which tied its season-low score of 159 in a meet against Central before improving that to 157—the best score in team history—versus West Central.

The Bulldogs swept the top six places in the April 24 meet at the Elkader Golf and Country Club. Quinn McGeough was the medalist for the first time this season, after shooting a 37, and Nick Krambeer’s 39 put him in the runner up position. Ben Krambeer and Joe Grau followed with a respective 41 and 42, while Sawyer Keehner shot a 44 and Jonah Wille a 46.

Central came in at 215, and Isaac Wellendorf was their top golfer with a 47.

MFL MarMac defeated West Central 157-204 in the April 27 match-up at Tri City Golf Course near Luana. Similar to the meet earlier in the week, the Bulldogs’ varsity players accounted for the six top scores. Nick Krambeer earned medalist honors with a 38, and Ben Krambeer was a close second with a 39. Wille and McGeough both shot 40s, tying for third place. Grau finished the night with a 42 and Keehner a 45.

The Bulldogs are now 17-5-1, and will this week host Turkey Valley and Postville. These are the team’s last two meets before the May 8 Upper Iowa Conference meet at Big Rock Country Club. The Class 2A sectional is also next week, on May 10, at New Hampton.
