MFL MarMac players earn all-conference honors

Four MFL MarMac girls basketball players have earned Upper Iowa all-conference recognition. Grace Anderson was selected to the first team and Hannah Bogdonovich to the second team, while Brooklynn Moon and Ashley Shaw received honorable mention nods.

 

Anderson played in 19 games in her senior season and shot a conference-high 59.9 percent from the field. Her 306 points were tied for third most in the UIC and her 133 field goals were second most. With 16.1 points per game, she was the Bulldogs’ leading scorer.

 

Additionally, Anderson totaled a team-leading 115 rebounds, or 6.1 per game. Her 61 offensive rebounds were fourth most in the conference. Anderson also picked up 26 steals and a team-high 11 blocks.

 

Bogdonovich, a junior, averaged 10.8 points over 18 games and racked up 194 points total. She shot 32 percent from the field and 23.8 percent from three-point range. Bogdonovich was second among MFL MarMac players and fifth among UIC competitors with 57 assists, averaging 3.2 per game.

 

In the rebounding category, Bogdonovich had 108 overall and 6 per game, which put her second on the team. She was tied for third with 29 steals and also earned 4 blocks.

 

Moon played in 14 games this season, picking up 92 points, or 6.6 per game. The senior shot 27.9 percent from the field and was one of the Bulldogs’ top long-range shooters, completing 15 of 62 attempts for 24.2 percent. She also averaged 2.1 assists per game, with 30 total.

 

Moon’s stat line included 48 rebounds, an average of 3.4 per game, and she snagged 20 steals and 2 blocks.

 

Shaw, also a senior, played in all 21 games this season, shooting 40.8 percent from the field. She totaled 195 points, or 9.3 per game, which was third most on the team. Shaw was MFL MarMac’s top free throw shooter, and was fifth highest in the conference with 88 attempts. She made 65 of those free throws, for 73.9 percent, which was third highest in the UIC. Shaw’s offensive presence was also felt in the assist column, where her 38 were third most among Bulldog players.

 

Another category Shaw ranked third in was rebounds, where she had 90 total and 4.3 per game. Defensively, Shaw picked up a team-high 39 steals and also had 3 blocks.
