Wayne Edmond O’Brien, 82 of rural Eastman, Wisc. passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien, Wisc. He was born on June 20, 1940 at the O’Brien home farm on Swatek Ridge Road, Eastman to his parents, Lloyd and Marie O’Brien. Wayne attended schools in Eastman and Seneca, Wis.
When Wayne was younger, he worked in the logging business. He then purchased the family farm from his father and began farming in the Eastman area. Wayne lived his entire life in Eastman and was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Wayne enjoyed farming, bird watching, hunting, fishing, watching sports, and playing cards. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He felt so blessed to have them.
Surviving Wayne are his sons, John (Corrine) O’Brien and Dennis O’Brien; daughter, Marla (Gary) Morovits; his loving caregiver, Judy Ronnfeldt; brother, Dale (Mary) O’Brien; grandchildren, Jonathan (Alissa) Obrien, Gordon (Carrie) O’Brien, Montana (Kyle) Jerrett, Kelly (Gary) Hamann, Theresa (Russell) Martin, Becky (Michael) Quam , Emily (Scott) Quam and Brandon (Jennifer) Zinkle; great-grandchildren, Vivica O’Brien and one on the way, Laney, Aubree and Tatum O’Brien, Larkin, Lakelyn and Landry Jerrett, Gabriel and Reid Hamann, Ava and Henry Martin, Miles and Emmett Quam and one on the way, Gracie and Zoey Quam and Addison and Avery Zinkle; several nieces and nephews; and his favorite aunt, Eunice Key.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a 3:30 pm Rosary on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at National Cemetery in Eastman.
Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family with arrangements.
