Fresh off her second consecutive NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championship, Loras College cross country graduate student Kassie Parker was named as the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Female Athlete of the Year, according to the organization's official release.

Parker is collecting the honor for the second cross country season in a row after enjoying similar national success in 2021.

The Guttenberg native and former Clayton Ridge Athlete cemented her legacy as one of the best Division III runners in history on Saturday as she ran away with her second straight national championship victory at the Forest Akers Golf Course in Lansing, Mich.

Parker became the first women's runner to win back-to-back national titles since St. Lawrence University's Went Palvus in 2009 and 2010.

She ends her cross country career as a two-time national champion, a three-time Midwest region champion, and a two-time American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) champion, among a host of other accolades during her illustrious career. — Submitted by Troy Weiman, Director of Athletic Communications, Loras College
