Richard J. Picha, 59 of Prairie du Chien passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. 

He was born Feb. 9, 1963, the son of Kenneth and Evelyn (Wachter) Picha. After graduating from high school, Rich succeeded in his father’s business and owned and operated Ken’s Electric in Prairie du Chien for many years. He married Suzanne Gannon on Dec. 12, 2014, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien. He was a member of the Rural Bridgeport and Prairie du Chien Fire Department and the Cliffhangers Snowmobile Club. Rich was known as the River Bandit, winning numerous dirt track racing championships over the years. 

He is survived by his wife Sue; his children Kyle and Ryan Picha; his stepchildren Ryan and Alyssa Gannon; and his grandson Joseph Gannon. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

A Graveside Service was Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. in the Calvary Cemetery in Prairie du Chien, Pastor Miranda Klosterboer officiated.
