Jeffrey Brooks Strnad, 68, of Guttenberg, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital in Dubuque.

Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Michael Ashman. Visitation was before services at the church.

Interment was at Guttenberg City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Hagen, Nathan Hagen, Jareth Hagen, Chance Hagen, Chris Hagen and Chase Hagen.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Jeff was born on July 26, 1954, in Prairie du Chien, Wis, the son of Charles and Caroline (Schmidt) Strnad.

Jeff received his education locally and shortly after became a proud member of the Marine Corps. After leaving the Marines he began his career driving semi-trucks all over the country delivering homes and making friends. In 1980, Jeff was united in marriage with Jean Cassutt Hagen. For the past 42 years they worked together. Jeff transported oversized loads (mainly homes) all over the country and Jean drove the flag car so they spent most of the last 42 years together all the time. Later in life he continued his passion of helping others by joining the Free Masons and Shriners. Outside of trucking Jeff enjoyed fishing and hunting especially traveling out west with his cousins and family elk hunting. Jeff had a great sense of humor and also appreciated all the good times spent with his trucking buddies.

Jeff is cherished and loved by his wife of 42 years, Jean; five stepsons, Timothy Hagen, Lance (Petra) Hagen, Tom (Cathy) Hagen, Jeffrey (Michelle) Hagen and Jamie Hagen; many grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce (Gerri) Strnad, Randy (Kim) Strnad and many other relatives and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.
