Umbrella Arts, a collaborative, cooperative, supportive arts organization comprised of volunteer members in Guttenberg, are set to present a Musical Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John featuring Walt Wise, of Wise Productions on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Lakeside Ballroom in Guttenberg. 

Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased from Umbrella Arts members, and at Esser's Clothing, Guttenberg, or online at tinyurl.com/bdhs5mz. Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event for $25.    

Walt Wise is from Ohio, and has performed in New York, at Disney World, and all across the United States. His three-hour musical salute will include two sets:

It’s “Still Rock-n-Roll” when 52nd St. comes to town! The talented musician will perform the big hits of legendary artist Billy Joel. "From songs like Big Shot and You May Be Right; to ballads like Just the Way You Are and She’s Got a Way; to perennial favorites like Piano Man. There is something for everyone!" says a spokesperson for Wise Productions. 

Followed by a short break for a costume change, Wise will perform  Captain Fantastic, the Music of Elton John. They continued, "Take a journey with the Rocketman! Captain Fantastic, the premier Elton John Tribute Show, will dazzle you with an amazing musical extravaganza! You're gonna hear electric music, solid walls of sound, as Captain Fantastic performs stunning recreations of your favorite Elton John hits from the 70s. Captain Fantastic will amaze you with costumes that go from bizarre to breathtaking, and his amazing 5-foot baby grand piano will shower you with lights, smoke, lasers, and a few surprises. You may think you've gone down the Yellow Brick Road!" 

"We were made aware of his musical tribute by former Lakeside owners Kari and Jeff Friedlein," said an Umbrella Arts member. "The Friedleins had the pleasure of hearing him perform in 2019. We originally contacted him to present his program in October 2020, but then COVID hit and we were unsure about scheduling an indoor event. We are very happy to finally bring him to Guttenberg!"
