The MFL MarMac volleyball team dropped its Aug. 23 season opener to Cascade in straight sets.
The first match‚ a 25-20 edge for the Cougars, was the closest of the night. Cascade then took the following two sets 25-11 and 25-17.
MFL MarMac struggled to handle the Cascade service game that, although at 80.8 percent efficiency, resulted in 13 aces. The Cougars also racked up 30 kills on 80 attempts and blocked eight Bulldog kill attempts.
At press time, no individual statistics were available for MFL MarMac.
This week, the Bulldogs will compete in a triangular at New Hampton on Aug. 30. They’ll take on the host team first, then challenge Turkey Valley.
