Four Illinois men were fined on illegal hunting charges for shooting deer after legal hunting hours in the Town of Woodman last December.

Misbah Syed, 49, Naperville, Ill., and Mohammed Siddiqi, 64, both of Naperville, Ill., were fined $3,478 each and had their Department of Natural Resources hunting rights revoked for three years after they pleaded no contest in Grant County Circuit Court to hunting deer during a closed season.

Citations for possession of game killed by unlawful or unknown means and failure to complete registration for a bear, deer, sharp-tailed grouse or turkey against Siddiqi were dismissed. A charge of illegal shining of deer, elk or bear against Syed was dismissed.

Mohammed Khan, 54, Plainfield, Ill., was fined $2,468 and had his hunting privileges revoked for three years after he pleaded no contest to illegal shining of deer, elk or bear.

Citations for possession of game killed by unlawful or unknown means, having an illegal loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, and hunting bear or deer before or after legal hunting hours were dismissed.

Syed, Siddiqi and Khan were also ordered to provide DNA samples, according to court records.

Sami Siddiqi, 61, Naperville, Ill., was fined $343.50 after he pleaded no contest to failure to complete registration for a bear, deer, sharp-tailed grouse or turkey.

Grant County deputies were assisted in the investigation by the Wisconsin and Illinois departments of natural resources.
