Helen Louise Cornwell, 89, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, surrounded by her family, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg.

Visitation was Tuesday, May 31, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 1, at United Methodist Church in Greeley, conducted by Rev. Mary Green.

Interment was at Grant View Cemetery, Greeley.

Helen was born on March 14, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Alta (Cole) Bolsinger on the family farm near Colesburg.  Helen was raised and educated in the Colesburg area and attended Colesburg High School.

In 1950, Helen was united in marriage to Walter Bond. Two children, Joyce and William “John” were born to this union. Walter passed away in 1962. Helen was united in marriage to Clair “Corny” Cornwell on July 20, 1968, in Manchester. Two children, Brian and Alta, were born to this union.  Clair and Helen raised their children in the Greeley area. 

Helen was a housewife and also enjoyed working at Trademark Homes for many years.  She also worked for many years at the Greeley Senior Meal Center. Helen loved working in her flower gardens and taking care of her yards. She made many quilts over the years and always looked forward to taking bus trips with her husband, Clair. She also loved playing Euchre and Aggravation with her family. Helen loved attending family events and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her children, Brian (Stephanie) Cornwell and Alta Dorothy (Terry) Kloser, both of Greeley; son-in-law, Ronnie Willie of Garber; daughter-in-law, Linda Bond of Independence; nine grandchildren, Tammy Funk, Tonya (Phil) Wille, Jason (Mary) Bond, Danielle (Quinton) Neilsen, Stacey (Ryan) Adams, Cory Kloser, Aaron Kloser, Adam Kloser and Kaitlyn Kloser; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and sisters-and brothers-in-law, Darlene (Jim) Opperman of Wadena, Jean Cornwell of Greeley, Nancy Cornwell of Greeley, Pat (Dan) Elledge of Colesburg, Doug (Carol) Cornwell and Joyce (Erlin) Cooksley, all of Buffalo, Mo.; a very special friend, Deidre Tibbott of Greeley; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Walter Bond and Clair Cornwell; her two children, Joyce Willie and William “John” Bond; and her siblings, Lulu Robbins, Florence Davis, Elizabeth Horstman, Addie Radabaugh, Blanche Staebler, Gladys Cole, Irene Hansel, Elmer Bolsinger, Clarence Bolsinger, Lorence “Bill” Bolsinger and Glen Bolsinger.
