Wins over West Central and Clayton Ridge kept the MFL MarMac boys golf team unbeaten through the first two weeks of the season.

The Bulldogs bested the Blue Devils 179-206 on April 19, at Tri City Golf Course in Luana. Although West Central’s Brandon Cushion was the meet medalist with a score of 40, MFL MarMac’s Joe Grau was a close runner up at 42. The Bulldogs also claimed the next four top scores, with Quinn McGeough shooting a 44, Nick Krambeer a 46, Ben Krambeer a 47 and Jonah Wille a 48.

Jaxton Schroeder finished with a career best 49, followed by Cullen McShane at 51 and Jaron Wille at 53. Sawyer Keehner and Austin Schlee both shot 54s, while Nolan Lerch came in at 56 and Bryce Radloff at 58.

MFL MarMac continued to play well at Guttenberg on April 21, where the team defeated Clayton Ridge 186-208. Grau’s score of 44 made him a meet medalist for the third time this season, and Nick Krambeer was the runner up with a 45. Gabe and Quinn McGeough rounded out the varsity total with scores of 48 and 49.

Keehner also shot a 48 on the day and Jonah Wille a 51. Ben Krambeer and Lerch both finished at 53, Schlee at 55, Jaron Wille at 61, Schroeder at 65 and Radloff at 77.

Clayton Ridge’s top golfer was Jace Fassbinder with a 49. No other Eagles shot below a 51.

The Bulldogs play twice this week, starting at Turkey Valley on April 25. They’ll host a key match-up against North Fayette Valley, the only other undefeated team in the Upper Iowa Conference, on April 28.
