Joseph M. “Joe” Keene, 74, of Boscobel, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. 

He was born Aug 4, 1947, in Lynxville, the son of Eldridge and Marie (Shoemaker) Keene. He married Margie Hurda on Sept. 15, 1979, in Ashland. As a young boy living in Lynxville, Joe and his brother Tom, and a few local boys put up the first three Wise Men on the hill above their house in Lynxville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching NASCAR; his favorite driver to watch was Jimmy Johnson. He also enjoyed walking the woods finding mushrooms. He worked many years for Weather Shield Windows, as a supervisor, in Medford. Later, he and his family moved to LaGrange, Ind., working at an RV window factory. He then returned to Wisconsin and enjoyed his retirement. He had a soft heart for his Shih-Tzu family, Nikki-China-Ruby and Pearl. He will be missed by his family and his dog, Pearl.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Keene of Boscobel; his children, Korey Keene of Boscobel, Jodi Keene of Prairie du Chien, Jeff (Lynn) Keene of Elkader, Iowa; six grandchildren; and one sister; Kathleen Lesar of Prairie du Chien.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Terry Keene and Kyle Keene; one daughter, Lacey Primmer; along with three brothers and one sister.
