Fisher qualifies for State Meet

This past Saturday, the Prairie du Chien-Fennimore gymnastics team traveled to Dodgeville for the Sectional Meet. 

The PDC-F gymnasts placed seventh with a season high score of 128.05. Reedsburg Area was first with 134.625. Dodgeville-Mineral Point was second with 134.6. Viroqua took third with 133.25.

Sophomore Madilyn Fisher had her best meet of the season advancing her to the State Meet two years in a row this Friday, March 4 in Wisconsin Rapids. The top five gymnasts in each event and all-around advance to state. Fisher placed third in all-around with a season-high score of 35.25, fourth on vault with a score of 8.675, fourth on beam with a season-high score of 8.975, and fifth on floor with a score of 9.125.

Alyssa Schoepp just missed making it to state on the floor exercise, placing sixth with a score of 9.075 and seventh on beam with a season-high score of 8.75. Avery Thompson also had a season-high score on floor of 8.325. 

There was an extreme amount of talent from all teams at the meet this past weekend. 

“With the scoring tougher at the Sectional Meet, the girls did an amazing job,” said Coach Alex Udelhofen. “They had their season-high score of 128.05, which beat the school record for the fourth time this year. This is a pretty amazing accomplishment.” 

The varsity team consisted of Madilyn Fisher, Alyssa Schoepp, Avery Thompson, Taia Dressler, Madison Otts, Alexandria Crary, and Leilani Pfleuger. Congratulations girls!
