Roland K. Groom, 76, of Wauzeka, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at his home surrounded by family and close friends.
He was born in Boscobel, on Aug. 8, 1945, the son of Kenneth and Mary (Kane) Groom. He graduated from Boscobel High School before going to work on the family farm as the third generation farmer. He was an avid horseman who loved his pure-bred blue healer, Sire, who he took to Dairy Queen for a pup cup on a regular basis. Roland enjoyed staying active around the farm and just being outside. He would play Rummy with anyone willing and cheat as often as he could. He loved his family and friends and would welcome their company.
He is survived by his children, Brenda (Nathen) Wall and Kevin Groom; his grandchildren, Jake and Rylee Groom, Ruger and Ryker Wall; his great-grandchildren, Cybil and Waylon Groom; and his lifelong best friend, Jim Cullen. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Donnie, Bob, and Shelby Groom.  
According to Roland’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Garrity Funeral Home is assiting the family. Cards of condolences can be sent to Brenda Wall, 28832 Happy Valley Ln., Wauzeka, WI 53826.
