Joshua Jerome Moore, 39, of rural Strawberry Point, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, following injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born Jan. 11, 1982, in West Union, to Gene Moore and Julie Torkelson.

Joshua attended Valley Community Schools. He drove as a company driver for Crawford Transport. A few years later, he attended Iowa Lakes Community College, specializing in the wind energy program, and worked in that field for 10 years. He then became owner/operator, traveling to many areas of the U.S., first leasing on with Crawford Transport, and in the past year with Mihm Brothers.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His nieces and nephews were the light of his life; he rarely missed a birthday party. Joshua was involved in many outdoor activities: deer hunting, fishing, canoeing and boating on the Mississippi, just to name a few.

Survivors include his dog, Olek; parents, Julie and Scott Torkelson and Gene and Tami Moore; two brothers, Wesley Moore (friend Steph) and Brandon Torkelson; three sisters, Heather (Greg) Berns, Jessica Moore and Rebecca (Brian) Boehmler; one step-brother, Travis (Annie) Lamphier; and two step-sisters, Tonya Lamphier (Jeff Kuhse) and Terra Lamphier; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Josh was preceded in death by his brother, Jeremiah Moore; grandparents, Jerome and Marjorie Brehme Werner and Elizabeth Moore; five uncles, Wilmer Moore, Roger Loomis and Kurt, Steve and Louis Brehme; and two cousins, Jerry and Shawn Brehme.
