Linda M. Parkins, 56, of Bloomington, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022, at Divine Rehabilitation and Nursing in Fennimore. 

She was born Dec. 2, 1965, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Al and Judy (Heal) Berg. Linda was united in marriage to Thomas Parkins on Aug. 10, 1985, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington.
Linda graduated from West Grant High School in Patch Grove. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She worked at Prairie du Chien High School for six years and loved her job and the people she worked with and the students she cared for. She loved doing things with her family, especially going to the Midwest Horse Fair, Cranberry Fest, Wiggle Butt Walk, and any type of craft fairs or shows. She was self-taught with computer and smart phone skills, as her friends would call her “Gizmo.” She was always willing to help her family and friends when needed. She loved life to the fullest, and her family and friends will miss her loving and kind spirit dearly.

Linda is survived by her husband, Thomas of Bloomington; son Dustin (Jenelle) Parkins of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter Amber Parkins, of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Leah and Andy; mother Judy Berg of Richland Center; seven siblings, Judy Mergen of Tomah, Mark (Deb) Berg of Lone Rock, Marlene Berg and Keith of Scottsdale, Ariz., Barb (Mike) Sander of Boscobel, Donna Berg and Mike of Lone Rock, Steve (Carla) Berg of Deerfield, Lucy Berg and Leo of Milwaukee; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Bernadette Parkins of Bloomington; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Bob (Mary Jo) Parkins of Kimberly, John and his husband Mark Parkins of Wood Dale, Ill., Cathy (Mark) Luhring of Waunakee, Mike Parkins and April of Pardeeville, Kelli Keiner and Greg of Oregon; along with many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved Cocker Spaniels, Max and Sergeant.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Al Berg. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Father John Meinholz will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday Jan. 9, at the St Mary’s Catholic Church in Bloomington and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Monday morning.
