Bruce H. Steele, 80, of Bloomington, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born Dec. 26, 1941, the son of Fay and Velma (Hinkle) Steele. Bruce graduated Bloomington High School. He enlisted in the United States Army and served stateside. On July 15, 1967, he was united in marriage to Shirley L. Yont at the Waukesha United Methodist Church. In 1970 they moved to Bloomington, and Bruce began his career at Dairyland Power Plant in Cassville, retiring after 35 years. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing with his brother, Arnie, and riding his Harley Davidson. Bruce attended the Bible Baptist Church in Prairie du Chien. He dearly loved his family and will be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is his loving wife, Shirley; two daughters, Lori (Michael) Liddell and Terra (Rich) Clark; three grandchildren, Megan Berntgen, Ashlie and Bryce Clark; his mother, Velma Steele; siblings, Joann Hampton, Arnie (Irene) Steele and Coleen Reuter; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Richard Hampton and Zippy Reuter.

A private family funeral service will be held at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home and Crematory in Bloomington. Private family burial will be held in Blake’s Prairie Cemetery, rural Bloomington. Cards of condolence may be sent to 511 Mill St., Bloomington, WI 53804.
