It’s nearly a year away yet, but excitement is mounting for the County Line Country music festival Aug. 4-6, 2022, on the Sheckler family festival grounds in Bridgeport.

Friday night headliner and current Billboard chart topper Justin Moore has already been announced. In addition, well-known ‘90s performer Neal McCoy is on the schedule for Saturday evening. These men will join a lineup of 13 main stage country music acts along with several in the beer garden as well.

Formerly known as Country on the River, this new, three-day fest can be expected to bring in the same caliber of country music stars as before. Yet, its aim is to offer a more community-oriented approach.

“We want people in our small towns to be involved as much as possible,” said Scotty Sheckler, organizer. “We want to work with the city of Prairie du Chien and Bridgeport, and volunteer groups, to ensure this is beneficial for everyone.”

Tickets and camp sites will go up for sale at countylinecountryfest.com starting Nov. 1.

County Line Country is managed by the original owners of Country on the River: Sheckler and his family.

“We didn’t have it the last three years it was out there (on the grounds),” Sheckler said, noting that they sold COTR to Townsquare Media in 2015. That company last held the event in 2017 before it was canceled in 2018. “But we’re super excited about bringing it back. I’m personally a country fan more than anything. Our grounds are certainly set up for an event like this.”

Sheckler added, with Prairie du Chien growing as a tourist destination and so many activities happening locally, he’s convinced people who come here for County Line Country will make a return trip.

“It’s good for tourism and small businesses too. We have a lot of sponsors on board again and have received extremely positive feedback so far,” he stated. “I think people are happy it’s coming back.”

Overall, Sheckler said he’s happy to have the opportunity to give back through what he loves. “It’s a feel good thing. If we can give to the high school or fire department, it means something to us.”
