River Ridge blanks Black Hawk-Warren
River Ridge blanked visiting Black Hawk-Warren (Ill.) 25-0 in a Six Rivers football contest Friday night.
Logan Drone scored on a 3-yard run with 7:01 to play in the first quarter to give River Ridge a 6-0 lead.
Drone threw an 89-yard touchdown pass to Braden Crubel and the extra point was good as the Timberwolves increased their lead to 13-0 with 10:48 to go in the second quarter.
Drone went on a 74-yard touchdown jaunt a the 8:18 mark of the third period as River Ridge boosted its advantage to 19-0.
Drone ran it in from 2 yards out with 7:31 to play in the game as River Ridge was victorious, 25-0.
Drone was 3-9 passing for 136 yards and a touchdown. Drone rushed 19 times for 176 yards and 3 TDs. Owen Hamilton had 12 carries for 40 yards. Will Cooley carried the ball 10 times for 45 yards. Crubel hauled in 2 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Ian Adrian had 1 catch for 10 yards.
Drone recorded 8 total tackles. Hamilton had 9 tackles. Bryr Clark had 6 tackles and a forced fumble. David Nies had 5 tackles. Brody Kielley had 9 tackles. Adrian had 4 tackles. Andrew Nies had 3 tackles and 2 forced fumbles. Cooley had 3 tackles. Anthony Davis had 4 tackles. Crubel had 2 tackles.
River Ridge finished the regular season at 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the Six Rivers Conference.
The Timberwolves will next host Potosi-Cassville on Oct. 22 for Level 1 of the WIAA playoffs. Potosi-Cassville went 8-1 on the season and 6-1 in the Six Rivers Conference.
