Jason A. “Tony” Teynor, 78, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Prairie du Chien on Oct. 19, 1942, the son of Clarence and Dorothy (Evans) Teynor. He served in the United States Army tank division and was a veteran of the Korean War during the Vietnam conflict. Jason married Donna Weidemann on May 25, 1968, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He had a love and passion for tractors. That passion drove him to travel the country, even setting a Guiness World Record in Grand Island, Neb., for the largest parade of classic tractors. On the back of his Fordson Power Major, he and hundreds of others traveled a 2-mile distance to set the record. He also traveled to West Allis, where he participated in the Red Power Round Up, and international tractor show. He also loved to play cards and always knew where the closest game was. He enjoyed playing at the Eagle’s Club in Prairie du Chien on Tuesday and Thursday nights, but he would also travel Crawford County and to McGregor, Iowa, to play. He liked having coffee at The Port every morning with his buddies, where they would solve the world’s problems. Tony loved being in the woods, hunting berries and mushrooms, and spending time with his family. He loved his family and always enjoyed having them around.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna; their children, Sally (Craig) Davies, Jason (Sherri Kreul-Teynor), and Sarah (Frank) Ruegsegger; his siblings, Bill (Ann) Teynor, Linda (Bob) Vance, Trudy (Gary) Adams, and Dan (Rose) Teynor; and his grandchildren, Nicole (Mitch) Loy, Megan (Adam) Boyd, Bradley Davies, Cianna Lee Fernandes, and Carlee Monroe, Carah Teynor, and Matthew Teynor, Rhett Patzner, and Mollie Patzner; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee Welch, Dominik and Madison Davies, Adrian and Tegan Fernandes, Jadyn and Owen Garbacz, and Oaklynn and Gauge Peterson; grandpa’s little buddy, Derek, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Betty Lang and Jeanne Shinko; his brother, Jim Teynor; and his grandson, Jason Teynor III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Oct.  23, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Military Honors will be accorded graveside by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard.
